CareTrips, a locally owned and operated company, is a beacon of accessibility, advocacy, and compassion within the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) community. Founded in 2013, CareTrips was born from a deep, personal experience with the challenges and significant gaps in
Non-Emergent Medical Transportation (NEMT) resources.

CareTrips was founded by healthcare professionals with a deep commitment to the DFW community. Our ownership team consists of three dedicated partners: Johnny Chacko, Tim Noonan, and Bejoy Matthew.

Johnny and Tim, who each spent the first 20 years of their careers in healthcare—specializing in social work and long-term care—identified a significant gap in the wheelchair transportation market in DFW. Their extensive experience underscored the need for a specialized solution to better serve the community.

Driven by their goal to bridge this gap, Johnny and Tim, alongside Bejoy, established CareTrips. By leveraging their healthcare expertise, they created a service that ensures the highest level of care for those in need.

CareTrips Ownership Partners dedicated over a decade to working as healthcare professionals in the DFW area, specializing in social work and long-term care. Their experience highlighted significant gaps in Non-Emergent Medical Transportation (NEMT) and its impact on patient care.

Recognizing the lack of NEMT services in DFW and its effects on patient care, the founders resolved to create a solution. Their vision was to provide exceptional transportation services to enhance care for patients and the community.

CareTrips Established

Launched with 3 vehicles, CareTrips began its mission to improve accessibility and transportation in the DFW area.

Growing Fleet

Expanded to 5 vehicles, each painted a different color— a unique touch by Managing Partner Johnny Chacko to make each van distinct and enjoyable for his children. Introduced new dispatch software to streamline operations.

Added 3 new office staff members and established a dedicated Intake and Dispatch Team to enhance operational efficiency.

2022: DFW Ice Storm

Emergency Response

Demonstrated our commitment during the Ice Storm of 2022 by facilitating transportation for healthcare workers to long-term care facilities and hospitals. We provided emergency transport for over 50 patients, relocating them from hazardous conditions. During this period, we expanded our office team by 10 members (totaling 15) and added 10 new vehicles, increasing our fleet to 30.

CareTrips proudly offers same-day bookings. While a 48 hours is preferred to ensure the requested trip time is available, CareTrips offers Same Day bookings
as well.

Yes, CareTrips also services personal errands, events, family outings, and more.

Yes, 48 hours or greater booking in advance is encouraged.

CareTrips does not offer Stretcher transportation at this time.

Yes, COVID Transportation Specialists are available upon request.

CareTrips can accommodate all wheelchairs, including Bariatric Wheelchairs and Electric Wheelchairs. Please provide wheelchair type/size at booking.

Yes, CareTrips also services personal errands, events, family outings, and more, Outing, etc..

Currently, all vehicles include an additional ambulatory seat for a companion.

We travel throughout Texas and the surrounding states. Lets Ride Together.

CareTrips does not currently accept insurance.Receipts/ Invoices may be provided upon request, to submit to insurance for any available out of pocket expense reimbursement.

Yes, family members or medical professionals are encouraged to accompany passengers.

Yes, please request wait-time whenever requesting a trip quote.

Yes, all CareTrips vehicles are equipped with a wheelchair at no additional cost. Please note, the Drivers are unable to leave the wheelchair with a passenger in between transports or at the destination. If you require a wheelchair use outside of the time during transportation, please note this to Intake at the time of booking.

CareTrips provides door-to-door service to ensure passengers arrive safely at their exact destination.

review your submission, request any additional information if needed, and
provide you with a confirmation.
